Two Cylinder
Four Cycle

This engine is built from drawings and castings puchased from the late Bob Shores. The engine is a two cylinder design with both pistons and rods attached to a single crank pin. The cylinders fire alternately since it is a four cycle engine and the cam is cut accordingly. It is water cooled and sports a belt driven pump and fan. Oil is splash from the sump. I run mine on glow ignition and I burn straight methanol. It can really scream and I broke a connecting rod one day trying to see how fast it would turn. It was well over 10,000 rpm. Damage was confined to a single rod. Balance would be better with a conventional crank but it runs fine.
