Forest Edwards 5 cyl.

The drawings for this engine were ordered direct from Forest Edwards as advertised in SIC magazine at the time. A reworked set of these same drawings are available today as a free download at Yahoo Groups R&R engines. A later more powerful version with spark ignition is still being manufactured by the Edwards Engine Company. This engine starts easily and runs well. I run it on straight methanol with synthetic oil pumped through the dry sump. Castor oil was used initially, but tends to gum up if left to sit, even with an after run oil added. You have to respect the power generated by an engine of this size. I accidently got my thumb tangled up in the prop one day and haven't looked at it in the same way since. No mercy at all!
