The Sealion
This engine is an E.T. Westbury design made for model racing boats. I bought the castings and drawings from a fellow I met at a steam show in upstate New York. He had them in the trunk of his car and needed the money as he was going through a divorce. It is designed for high performance and turns 10,000 rpm. I made some modifications to the original design. The oil sump was enlarged and O ring seals added at the crank ends. The engine pushes oil out otherwise. I use this engine as a test bed for my ignition systems, tachs, electronic and mechanical advance devices, etc. It's a good candidate for testing as it starts easily and has been reliable. It won "Best of Show" at one of the SIC sponsored contests.
