1/4 Scale Whizzer

The Whizzer bike and its engine were built as a project suitable as an entry for the Sherline Machinists Challenge. It was spawned by old memories of a bike my older brother owned back in the mid fifties. I worked on several bikes of this type growing up. The engine was built first and thoroughly tested before work was started on the Schwinn bicycle. Sherline considered the engine as the project and the bike as part of the display. Everything functions as per full size including the clutch, brake, kick stand, and twist grip throttle. The springer fork works as well. The only purchased parts are the reworked sprockets and the roller chain. Tires are O-ring material and the pedals are fabricated using square O-ring stock. I don't run the engine on the bike due to the damage that might occur while starting. It runs well ,but overheats fast.
